Exploring the Environment
All ages, teacher resources
This site offers an online series, which features an integrated
approach to environmental earth science through modules and
activities, is developed at the NASA Classroom of the Future™. The
problems in the ETE modules and activities ask students to address
human activities and their impacts upon the environment. The modules
and activities incorporate environmental issues such as water
quality, deforestation, biodiversity, volcanoes, ozone depletion,
and global climate change.

Scientists in the City

Scientists in the city are students, teachers, families, and science
enthusiasts around the world who are investigating the interaction
of the natural and manmade worlds. Become a scientist in your own
"city" by using these resources, communicating with other "cities,"
and joining the collaborative.
Throughout the school year, scientists will investigate their own
school, their neighborhood, and their city. Join other city
scientists and, collectively, investigate the great big ecosystem
called Earth.

North is a project where students can report your local signs of
seasonal change. The results of your observations will be combined
with other reports from all over the U.S., and a map will be created
to show results. Studies include monarch butterflies, tulip
plantings, migration, and whooping cranes. The site includes lesson

information.
