varied collection of papier-mâché anatomical models and provides
additional in-depth information not included in the original
three-dimensional exhibition. The exhibit showcases two major
themes. It explores the history and use of papier-mâché anatomical
models, and, then focuses on their construction, conservation, and
preservation. Human, veterinary and botanical models are featured.
Alien Empire (Insects)
Elementary/Middle school, teacher resources
This site is a multimedia Web companion to the three-week PBS NATURE
miniseries. Visitors can explore insects using articles, graphics,
video, sound, animation, puzzles, crafts, and activities. Teacher
resources are also provided.

Bugscope
All ages, teacher resources
The Bugscope project is a free educational outreach program for K-12
classrooms. The project provides a resource to classrooms so that
they may remotely operate a scanning electron microscope to image
"bugs" at high magnification. The microscope is remotely controlled
in real time from a classroom computer over the Internet using a web
browser.
Bugscope provides a state-of-the-art microscope resource for
teachers that can be readily integrated into classroom activities.
The site features classroom tips, additional resources and links,
insect information, color images and a 3D gallery.
Cell and Molecular Biology Online
Teacher resources, middle & high school
This site offers general resources for the biology community with an
emphasis on information for cell and molecular biologists. It
features an extensive list of links. It also offers educational
resources, courses, texts, images, videos, information, and
activities.
Elementary/middle
This
site offers a group activity to teach the functions of a cell.

This site offers basic information and activities on many
cell-related topics. These include: online onion root tips: phases
of the cell cycle, cell membranes, cell signaling, cell study,
mitosis, meiosis, prokaryotes, eukaryotes, & viruses and the
cytoskeleton.
Elementary/Middle school
This
webquest encourages students to imagine that they have been chosen
to be placed in a space ship, shrunk down to a microscopic size and
injected into the blood stream of a dog named Fosfo. Their mission
is to learn as much as possible about three organelles or structures
of the cell using the provided links.
Frog Dissection
Middle/High school, teacher resources
This site features a virtual frog dissection. It includes video,
resources, diagrams and instructions.
The Great Plant Escape
Elementary, teacher resources (also in Spanish)
This site offers students the chance to solve a mystery. They will
use clues, experiments and problems to learn about plants. Facts,
activities and a glossary are provided.
Middle
school
This
site introduces students to the inner workings of a variety of
different things. Cell topics include: cell parts, enzymes, DNA,
reproduction, poisons, antibiotics, viruses, genetic diseases, and
biotechnology. Other science topics include: earth science,
