the disabled. Use the online version to test a single page, or download the

This is a site by Webmasters for Webmasters. There is some information for

image and tell you how to reduce the size. Try a free demo, and see how a pro would

Another place to get free text effects for your site. A bunch of other graphics
like buttons and bars are promised, but not available.
Art Today
For $17.95 per year, you get access to tons of images and fonts. OK, so not all
the images are GIFs or JPEGs, but there are still thousands of choices here, and it's all
searchable.
Symbols.com
A searchable collection of 2500 symbols. Find the history of a symbol, or download
it for your own use. "The signs range from ideograms carved in mammoth teeth by
Cro-Magnon men, to hobo signs and subway graffiti."
Pantone
OK, so you know that browsers can only handle 216 colors before they start dithering
(or, in the case of AOL's browser, choking). But do you know what the 216 colors
are? And their hexadecimal RGB codes? Pantone makes a nice product called
ColorWeb so that you can have that info at your side. The software is Mac-only, but
the color wheel is great; look up the color without pestering your computer.

Don't want to pay for the ColorWeb color wheel? Download HEX Finder. It's
free, and shows you what a color will look like, and tells you if it's Web-friendly.
And you should definitely support software made by people named Björn.

Don't want to pay Pantone or download from Björn? Visit Lynda's page of
swatches, each with the corresponding hexadecimal and RGB values. This site has
other info for Web designers, too, including a page
which succinctly describes what the heck I've been talking about in the last three
