More than 25,000 biographies online. Search by name, birth year, death
year, profession, works, achievements or keyword.
Museums in the USA
Not much more than a list, by state, of museums that have Web sites, but if you're looking
for info on museums, it's a good place to start. Even more useful, there's a list of
online museums of the
world by specialty, with a keyword search, but it wasn't working when I went there.
CIA World Factbook
Lots of facts on all the countries of the world.
New York Times Navigator
A site created to help the Times' reporters od their research. Links, reference
desk, directories, etc.
U.S. Census Bureau
All the information you'd expect from the census folks. And if you just have to know
how many people live in the U.S. and the world this very moment, check out the POPclock.
